What’s Different about a Feng Shui Luo Pan Compass?
Like other magnetic compasses, the compass is a direction finder. Unlike most compasses, however, the compass needle points to the south pole. Feng Shui Luo Pan compass also looks very different from ordinary compasses, because the compass itself is embedded in a wood or metal freely moving circular disc, this disc is called a “dial”. This is where the annual rings and feng shui formulas are displayed.
The dial is located on a square wooden base, called a “terrestrial”, and there is usually a spirit level at one corner of the site to ensure that the compass is level. To find a direction and specific information about it, a red line or line should pass through the center of the Luopen compass.
The traditional compass usually shows only four to eight directions, although it can be used for Feng Shui purposes, the compass shows a full 360 degrees, the 24 directions are called “twenty-four mountains”, and various formulas related to directions. These all enable practitioners to determine the direction of buildings and the specific energy of the directions very accurately.
Is Lo Pan Compass in Chinese or English?
